“The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.“ Isaiah 3: 9-11
It seems that a day doesn’t go by that I don’t hear of some abominable sin that is not hidden, but is openly displayed without shame. The prophet Isaiah warns those who practice wickedness that they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
Moses said, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life,” Deuteronomy 30: 19-20
Jeremiah prophesied, “And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.” Jeremiah 21 :8
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
Moses also said that the Word … the Truth… is not hidden from us.
“He also For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very near unto you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.” Deuteronomy 30: 11-14
And Paul repeats this in Romans…
“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:8-9
There is no excuse. The Word is not hidden from us.
Life or death? Shall it be well with you or ill with you? Choose life. Jesus is life.
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:29
